Yes, yes, Y-E-S. Fan art of Top Cow's Sara Pezzini wielding the Witchblade.

This is something I've been wanting to do for a long time now but haven't had the courage to do. Seriously, I don't envy the poor souls who have the bittersweet task of bringing her to life on a monthly basis. I've heard there's a new wielder? I'm not sure. I stopped reading on issue 50. They're on, what, issue 116 now? I've got some catching up to do.

Anyway, if it wasn't for Witchblade I would've never picked up a comic book. I hate superheroes. HATE them! I first saw a drawing of her in a magazine that a friend brought way back in 8th grade art class. The drawing I saw was by Michael Turner and I was highly intrigued by the level of the art. When I went to the local comic store to find out more about her, I discovered they were then being drawn by Randy Green. Still, I spent a lot of time after school copying panels from Randy Green's run and trying desperately to be as fluid as he was with his lines... I'm still failing. Now there's an anime for the Witchblade. I got the first three volumes back when I had money and I love love L-O-V-E the character designs. It's also one of the few animes that I like the English overdub. Generally just a really good show. I hoe I can find some cheap used copies on Amazon.com or something.

Sadly, the comic book store (the only one in town) where I used to get Witchblade and other Top Cow comics went out of business a few years back. They thought that they could make a living by selling ONLY stupid effing role playing games. The comics were slowly phased out until they were no more. Shortly after, the store closed down. Now the closest comic shop is in the next city over and that's not worth the drive with gas prices the way they are.

Haha, thanks for reading that overly long entry on why I did this picture. I sincerely thank Marc Silvestri, Michael Turner, Randy Green and everyone else at Top Cow who worked on the first 50 issues of Witchblade for having inspired me to pick up a pencil and do something with it.

Thanks for looking! =)

I generally stay away from fanarting, especially known characters like this... Let the guys who know how to draw em do it... or at least that's my excuse =)

I'm glad that you like this =)
